Lovely Banks - future boomtown
Earmarked as the next Armstrong Creek style development locale, for the time being Lovely Banks is a farming hamlet on the edge of Geelong’s northern suburbs, west of the Geelong Ring Road. Multi-million dollar homes on acreages dot the hill leading up to Emerson’s Rd with sweeping views to the You Yangs and across Corio Bay. Beyond them, modest farm houses and smaller existing developments dominate the existing housing stock.
Lovely Banks has direct access to the M1 freeway to Melbourne and Lara Train station is a fifteen minute drive away. The proposed Lovely Banks development would border the approved Lara growth development area with decisions to be made on accelerating land development by the City of Greater Geelong’s Managing Future Growth Project
Geelong Baptist College is in Lovely Banks for prep to Year 12 students. Other options are a drive away in Geelong’s north including Kardinia International College and Grammar’s Corio campus.
On Friday nights and Saturday’s, local farm Magic Meadow opens to the public, selling organically grown, locally sourced produce. You’ll also find them hosting cheese and bread making classes across selected weekends. It’s a gem.
